Nearly Half of Holdco Staffers Want Out, Survey Finds
All is not well at advertising agencies—especially those owned by major holding companies.
Amid layoffs, consolidation, and the rise of generative AI—which could eliminate jobs across the industry—employees are feeling pessimistic about the future.
“There’s a lot of leadership obliviousness, so to speak, with the day-to-day lives of junior folks,” said one holding company agency employee, who asked to remain anonymous given the subject matter. “There’s just a lack of understanding.”
A recent ADWEEK reader survey shows most people who work at holding companies, such as IPG, WPP, Havas, Dentsu, Publicis, and Omnicom, report overall morale is negative.
