Camera recommendations for social media use

I film my artistic process and am looking for a starter camera (preferably on the lower price range) which I can use to film clips for social media (mainly tik tok) and take high quality photos of the final piece.

I know very little about what I should be looking for because I have never owned a straight up camera before. I see $50 cameras on Amazon and wonder if they are hidden gems or if they aren’t high quality enough.

Right now I use my phones back camera but my storage fills up too fast (I also have a toddler who takes up a lot of real estate) and I hate not having access to my phone while I am filming. Some of my clips may only be 5 seconds long but they are taken several minutes apart and because of the editing style I need the camera to stay in place until I am done filming.

I also know that what tik tok and meta compresses to is a factor. Is it worth filming in 4k 60FPS? Or do I not need a camera that is capable of that?

Any recommendations of beginner hidden gems or features I need to be paying attention to would be a big help
