    YouTube Advertising

Posted by myclemk on December 23, 2022 at 7:34 am

Looking to help a brand with getting more views on their YouTube videos via advertising.

Here is where I landed. Open to feedback and criticism.

My plan is to run in-stream and in-feed placements.

For the in-stream, I am going to run the original uploaded YouTube videos as the creative. They are between 10-15min. The CTA will be to watch more and link to the video URL.

CPV bid strategy – with a cpv max $0.10

My thought is that the video view will be counted if watched past 30sec or if it’s clicked and we won’t be charged until it’s been watched more than 30sec.

    >> Is this the most strategic and cost effective way to drive more views for an organic video on YouTube?

    >> Anyone have any direction on the most effective audience targeting? Demographic with affinity? Target like channels and videos? Topics?

    >> How do I know where I should start with max CPV?

Well it’s true that you can get a lot of free impressions with CPV bidding. Anyway, as soon as it counts as a view it will be charged.

What I don’t get: for your skippable in-stream ad you wanna link in the video to the same video again?

You can use reach planner in Google Ads UI to check what the recommended CPV bid is.

If you only desire cheap views for your video you should avoid any targeting and go broad.

Probably you can tell us more about your business and your marketing goals.
