Wordpress is good, Drupal is even better.

Google indexes URLs. So when you migrate from Wix to WordPress, as long as you maintain the URL, you won’t have to worry about the indexing. Just make sure to push some indexing through using Google Search Console around 48 hours after migration. This is to ensure google has indexed the main pages. And if your DA is high, google will regularly index your URLs anyway.

Just perform some audits once in a while check if your tailend urls are getting indexed. And if they are indexed once a month, that is normal too. The higher your web presence, the more often google will index your pages.

I’ve been researching this question for a while and get different answers from everyone.

Here is what I’ve concluded: Just because WP wins in statistical measures doesn’t necessarily mean they are superior in SEO. It’s incredible how bad SEOs are at interpreting causality.

As a practice, I prefer to examine your target user and consider whether or not they will be impacted by the change. SEO algorithms etc rules constantly change, far more than your user. So I recommend considering the design, CMS accessibility to make changes, update cost and site functionality before getting into the weeds about how well Google reads WP vs Wix sites.

In my experience WP has been dogshit when something complicated happens. I’ve worked on more custom CMS’s that were easier on the backend. I steer clients (small businesses) towards Weebly as they have the best combo of ease of entry, support, SEO related tools, and cost. They are only getting better.

Why debating over wix/wp while you have Webflow. Webflow hosts its server on AWS and images/assets are in CDN. And also, SEO works as lit and is all inside Webflow, no need to plug any plugin nor risk for security. I am no way any affiliate for Webflow, but I’m loving it since i started using it 1.5 years ago.

Wordpress is the best and popular platform. Also it’s a good for SEO instead of wix. So, I suggest you choose WordPress for website.

Wix and WordPress both offer solid SEO; It is a tie!

Both Wix and WordPress have basic, built-in SEO tools, and both offer apps or plugins that give you access to more advanced SEO features. We would say Youst is slightly better, although Site Booster is included in the cost of most Wix plans at no additional charge.

There’s a big SEO study by ahrefs that was not able to conclude that Wix is inferior to WordPress when it comes to SEO.
    I’ve posted it here before.
So for SEO reasons alone, don’t move platforms.
Sure, Wix is inferior in many ways and we develop on WordPress by preference.
But if SEO is your reason to move, then don’t move.
If your site is doing what you need then there’s no sound reason to move it right now.
    A favourite quote, not mine:
Don’t bring an opinion to a data fight.

Especially w/ Google, “SEO” is getting closer and closer to providing appropriate content to the people searching with keywords in search engines. All this is to say, it’s about the humans typing the keywords and their needs. If your content is good, and it provides value/answers to real needs, it should rank. It’s about content, not code-based tricks and techniques.

    That’s the principle anyway.

Aside from that, try not to do no-no’s that’ll get you penalized. And remember to set good Meta Titles & Meta Descriptions. Google doesn’t factor these into ranks at all — but it helps humans decide to click on your link when they find it on the Search Results page.

If WIX works for you, keep at it. That said, WordPress does allow nearly endless options for how to control and extend functionality, but more of a learning curve.

(some people might think this is pretty general. I’m no SEO expert, so I’m totally open to any bits of info that contradict what I’ve said)

WordPress is always good to work with. Also, you can easily do the changes to your site if it is WordPress based. Indexing won’t be an issue as per my experience.

I used to know absolutely nothing about website development. I hired someone from Upworks to show me the basics and every once in a while I will reach out to him to help me again when I get stuck, but I am able to do my own changes. If I can do it,,,, anyone can do it.

I don’t know anything about Wix, but I just wanted to reassure you that WordPress is doable for newbies.
