Will content location affect ranking?
Posted by Lone5Wanderer on July 12, 2024 at 9:31 amHello Everyone,
I work for a SaaS Company, I'm fairly new to the SEO stuff, I've been self-learning online, and the company I work At wants to shift content around the webpages in the website, they want to place the use case card at the top, then an introduction video, then a summary box and then the actual text of the webpage, will that negatively affect our rankings, keep in mind that we don't have spammy content or stuffing KWs at the bottom.Lone5Wanderer replied 12 months ago 2 Members · 1 Reply -

GuestJuly 12, 2024 at 9:36 amno, changing the location of the content section will not affect your website ranking…. However, do not remove content from pages that have a good ranking on Google.
Additionally, use SEMrush to identify content gaps between your pages and your competitors, and improve content quality and targeted keyword placement accordingly….

GuestJuly 12, 2024 at 9:39 amIf your content is strong and there are no shady practices, Google can usually interpret page layouts accurately. Just ensure your main content remains easily accessible. Monitor your rankings after the update, but it shouldn’t lead to significant problems.
Ultimately, prioritizing user experience is key.

GuestJuly 12, 2024 at 2:10 pmGoogle is content and structure agnostic. There is no golden standard so Google can’t enforce one – companies, individuals and organization need to be free to communicate to their consumers and this means testing which means trying new standards
There is no consistency among any of the sites that rank and the only consistency exists because peole copy each other and from training but Google doesn’t enforce or reward any standard or layouts in SEO or paid search and they constantly say this
A big example is that o often use spreadsheets – like as in just spreadsheets as my best converting content and it works on both SEO and ppc
I’ve tested and proven this at countless saas clmaonies and I can give you links for $bn companies who cured companies I’ve worked at who still use the
Unfairly you’ll get copywriters who don’t get paid to make spreadsheets trying to tell seos that this doesn’t work and this is wrong. Nobody is trying to take work away form copywriters but it’s does genius and visibly and testablybwrong to say that Google needs some stricter – go look at the file types Google r nos – 57 non-html or non-content file types all rank and supported
Futher – I can show you hundreds of docs on schema, detailed slug and character set instructions but lot a single document showing any support or suggested page layout. Heck the starter guide slayers count is not a factor
Use critical thinking and ask what kind of world would the internet be if Google said you have to use some prescriptive format. Then go do searches for technical saas products and show me this universal golden standard
