GuestJune 23, 2024 at 3:51 pmI’m a web dev in a similar situation, wanted to start learning google ads.
I started with Isaac Rudensky course on Udemy, found it very interesting. Sometime hard to follow word for word because some stuff changed in the interface, but overall learnt a ton of stuff.

GuestJune 23, 2024 at 4:57 pmMaybe ask your advertising company? I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t point you in the right direction or provide a 1-2 hour learning session. I usually provide higher level 1-on-1 overviews of Google Ads and strategy for clients. If they don’t help you out, I would be a little suspicious they’re just outsourcing your project..

GuestJune 23, 2024 at 5:21 pmIf its your account, audit it. See if you can detect how well they have run it for you. Watch for their structures, the keyword groupings.. a biggy, see if they are adding regularly to your negative keyword list, by auditing your search term report.
Hands on is the best way to learn and all these things are essential components, and you have a live campaign at your finger tips

GuestJune 23, 2024 at 6:39 pmIf they’re doing your advertising for you, have scheduled meetings with them to discuss performance with them and ask around to see what their strategies are.
You don’t need to get incredibly detailed into what levers they pulled as you can learn that through YT (Solutions 8, Surfside PPC, etc. ) but if they are a well rounded communicative company they’ll help you understand their mindset which will help you learn the perspective of PPC when you do it on your own. -

GuestJune 23, 2024 at 11:04 pmI would start by reading the Google Ads documentation, that will answer a lot of questions.

GuestJune 24, 2024 at 4:53 amI recommend u hire a consultant to help u set things up and give u strategies on what to do. Meanwhile u can watch videos on YouTube. I would watch the popular ones. Google ads so many different settings and strategies that will take u months to learn everything.

Hey! I’ve been in a similar boat with my business running on PPC ads for a while. Decided to dive into learning it myself recently. I’d recommend starting with some YouTube channels like Neil Patel and Surfside PPC—they have great beginner tutorials.
When I started, our point of sale solutions were also in need of an upgrade. We switched to M.E. POS, which made a huge difference in our sales process and even helped us understand customer behaviors better. It was such a smooth transition that it gave me the confidence to take on the PPC stuff myself.
