What’s your tool stack for successful Google Ads Compaigns?
Posted by misha_startup on May 18, 2024 at 6:53 amWhat's your tool stack for successful Google Ads Campaigns?
Heard people rely on their own data because they don't trust google's.
This makes me think that people use a bunch of other tools for running their google ads campaigns.
What do you guys use?

We all rely on Google and its tools/platforms: Google Ads Editor, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre, Google Sheets, Search Console (more useful for SEO but can be used sometimes for Google Ads), etc.

GuestMay 18, 2024 at 10:07 amWe use quite a few tools but no full management solution at my agency. In our e-Book we mark which tools we use, but many of the other tools are great also.

There’s also SEMrush and SpyFu for research.

GuestMay 18, 2024 at 11:10 amThey don’t trust googles data? Good luck getting anything meaningful outside of googles source data. Tools I’ve used are terrible because they have to scrape information they can find and it ends up being very inaccurate. I’ve tried SEM Rush for example and tried to get data on campaigns that I was running (for a comparison of the tool) and it could barely find anything. Certainly nothing similar to what I was running. That’s a keyword/ad spy program for competition. It was terrible and yet so many people use for comps.
I’m not sure what exactly you’re looking for (competition analysis, estimating, account building, reporting, etc) but start with googles suite. The only thing Google would provide that’s less than perfectly accurate is visitor data on GA historically uses sampling.
Also, Google ads allows scripting, you can search for Google ads scripts to implement and make your own, that’s good for a lot of things like custom alerts or pulling some performance data into Google sheets.
Really you’re better off just using the Google suite above all. Whoever said they don’t trust Google is misunderstanding that you don’t really have a choice.

GuestMay 18, 2024 at 11:59 amThere’s really no secret sauce here. It’s whatever tools help you answer your questions. For me its
Google Ads
Google Analytics
Google Sheets
Google Tag Manager
Google Merchant Center
Google Meet – this is really crucial as once a month I have a performance and strategy meeting with clients. All the tools in the world are useless if the client isn’t seeing ROI.
Recently I’ve been using GPT4 to analyze CSV files and that’s been helpful in terms of time taken to analyze a report. Just remember the output is directly proportional to your input. Be specific, and most importantly, trust but verify.
As a redundant analytics software we also deploy Matomo Analytics to each of the sites we manage ads for.
