  • What’s with all the indexing tools?

Posted by lockfulpuccinihk54 on October 9, 2023 at 1:59 pm

I have been seeing many posts online about indexing tools.

To me, they are all just basic wrapper for google indexing API, and clones of each other.

    \- indexguru.io in January
    \- tagparrot.com in March
    \- foudroyer.com in August.
    \- serpcrawl.com in September
    \- indexed.pro (coming soon)
There are many more clones just clearly getting in on a gold rush.

Does anybody use these tools? Are they even necessary?

I have been an SEO for 12 years. Indexing was always done automatically by Google, so I am confused why these tools are everywhere now. Indexing has never been an issue, for me

As I’ve been posting on this forum for years, the “Content as a Marketing Strategy” Myth has created indexes like “Orange” where there are 20 billion results but as we all know, the top 5 results get all of the clicks.

So – many webmasters are noticing that their content isn’t getting indexed due to a multitude of issues around Authority, relevance and structure and because people have convinced each other that ranking is an individual sport, people think that they have to get their content indexed and Google will just auto-appraise it into 1st place…

this is particularly frustrating for people who’ve been convinced that their or their writers “style” is one of Google’s favorites and therefore just automatically goes to number one – this obviously doesnt work at all on sites with 0-authority but these people don’t believe that exists – so they all think that the Google Indexing system is somehow broken and magically – capitalism has produced a money-back guaranteed ticktet to heaven solution for them.

    Hope that Helps!

I appreciate your perspective as a seasoned SEO professional. Indeed, the recent surge in indexing tools may seem like a gold rush, but I’d like to shed light on why such tools, including [INDEXED.pro](https://INDEXED.pro) (I’m one of the co-founders), are emerging.

**Speed and Control**: While Google does automatically index content, indexing tools allow you to expedite the process, ensuring that your content appears in search results promptly. They also provide granular control over which specific pages or content are prioritized for indexing, which can be crucial in optimizing your SEO strategy.

**Technical SEO Optimization**: In the ever-evolving SEO landscape, technical optimization has become increasingly important. Indexing tools can help manage complex technical aspects like canonicalization, duplicate content handling, and ensuring proper indexation.

**Efficiency for Large Websites**: For websites with extensive content, manual indexing management can become impractical. These tools streamline the process, making it more efficient and less time-consuming.

**Monitoring and Reporting**: Some indexing tools offer monitoring and reporting features, allowing you to track your website’s indexing performance and identify potential issues quickly.

**Competitive Advantage**: In highly competitive online spaces, having your content indexed swiftly can be a strategic advantage. This is especially true for time-sensitive content or marketing campaigns.

Each indexing tool typically offers unique features and capabilities, differentiating them from being mere clones. It’s crucial to evaluate them individually to determine which one aligns best with your specific SEO objectives and website requirements.

While automatic indexing by Google may suffice for some, indexing tools can provide an extra edge in optimizing your SEO efforts and staying ahead in the digital landscape. As the co-founder of INDEXED.pro, I’m excited to share more about our tool and how it can address specific indexing challenges and enhance your SEO strategy. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you’d like to explore how INDEXED.pro can complement your SEO expertise.

    I’m Mike, I built and run [IndexGuru.io](https://indexguru.io)

First off, I’d like to thank you for highlighting the fact that we were first ????

As far as your question – why do we exist:

Basically, I built a lot of sites over the years. SEO was always my primary traffic engine. I would build a site, write a lot of posts, and then wait.

It was just annoying because it would take so long for G to even acknowledge those new pages existed, because I had no search authority.

So I started researching options. First thing I found was RankMath. It looks AMAZING! But it only works on WordPress. I don’t do WordPress!

So, looked for more options. Found the Google Indexing API. It’s free! Anyone can use it. You can use it yourself without paying for our service or anybody else’s.

The thing is, it’s an API so you need some technical chops to get it working. I got a prototype working for myself to auto index pages using it, and, as any good business minded person would, decided to productize it and sell it as a service.

    Thus, IndexGuru was born.

The problem it solves is having google index your pages faster than it would naturally happen. It’s especially important for time sensitive content, like current news, Shopify inventory, stuff like that.

We charge $9/mo, we’re cheaper than any other option.

    Hope that helps!
    Mike

The reason these tools are valuable is because manually indexing the web pages is tedious and requires a lot of effort if you’re generating a lot of content or your team is.

You don’t need the tool but if Google ever unindexes a page of yours have fun discovering which ones they are and manually requesting indexing.

A cheap tool to automate it for you is worth it but if you have like 3 websites then you definitely don’t need it.

    A paradigm shift and entitlement.

Google used to officially aim at indexing the *entire* web so its users would have access to everything. In the past years, it changed stances to selectively index what they feel is valuable to the user, meaning an entire website might not be fully indexed and that’s the way it is.

SEOs’ sense of entitlement can’t take it¹ so of course we are trying to bend things on our own terms. Since we’re very good at coughing out clones of tools² to grab money from our own, we built some to hack the Google Indexing API despite it only being designed for Jobs and Live events.

I never needed those tools in the past years either despite the variety of sites in sizes and structure.

¹ – *”What? Google won’t index my new blog post I made based on content from the top 10 ranked pages on the keyword? How dare they.”*

    ² – 2020: keyword research tools

    2021: linkbuilding platforms

    2022: indexing tools

    2023: AI content generators

    2024: ?
