What’s the point of growing a Pinterest account?
Posted by seohelper on May 1, 2020 at 3:25 pmIs Pinterest a good platform to grow a following on? I’m concentrated on Instagram but someone told me that Pinterest is also a good platform.
So yeah thoughts?

GuestMay 1, 2020 at 3:58 pmThe biggest issue with Pinterest is that pins are majorly only pictures, the back links don’t link to the actual product.
If you are able to link an actual product that does well on Instagram the by all means post it on Pinterest too. Meet your followers where they are.
I can guarantee you Pinterest searches have gone up at this time bc people are looking for things to do/planning for when things go back to normal.

GuestMay 1, 2020 at 5:19 pmDepends on your service/product and your audience. Pinterest is predominantly female. Anything visual will do better than other categories. Top posts seem to be fashion, cosmetics, fitness, food, art, etc.
For us it has limited value. We have some posts go viral occasionally but even with millions of Pinterest views it only translates to a few hundred actual page views.

GuestMay 1, 2020 at 8:03 pmPinterest seems perfectly fine from my testing, but I was having this issue where I had too much crap going on and too many distractions so I kind of put social media on the backburner.
The good news is, it’s REALLY easy to just make a quick pin or social media post about whatever you have going on at the time and move on. Especially with all the custom sharing buttons and options you have to make it more convenient.

GuestMay 2, 2020 at 9:53 amIt’s become extremely spammy. I use Pinterest privately but barely tap an image anymore because it just leads to sketchy websites most of the time. If I find a product I’m interested in, I reverse google search it or use Google lens, but I rarely do that.

GuestMay 2, 2020 at 12:08 pmIt depends really.
Some people use Pinterest to gain ideas and inspiration. Others use it to drive traffic and sell products. Personally, I use it to drive traffic which I then monetise. I have had great success using it, but it’s a very niche based platform.

GuestMay 2, 2020 at 5:11 pmPinterest is a social search engine, you don’t really have to grow a “following”, make pins and use the right seo strategies to make them go viral.
