  • What to charge for instagram stories

I am a content creator with 15,000 followers on instagram, and for sponsored posts I use the very simple rubric of charging $10 for every 1,000 followers. I am wondering how much to charge for a sponsored story of 2-3 slides.

The only advice I can find online mentions the same rubric of $10/1000 followers for stories. I do not see how it makes sense to charge the same for a sponsored story, however, since they get much less reach and engagement and are only up for 24 hours. Any advice about charging for stories would be appreciated, thank you.

I agree with you, although I don’t have any experience with sponsored posts. The value IMO would be (highest to low):

    1. Reels
    2. Posts
    3. Stories

Seems like a tories would be no more than half of what you charge for posts based on the constraints that you pointed out.

Hi! I have 17k and charge $100 for 2 story posts the first time, $100 a story post after that. I’ve been able to charge up to $500 for a reel as well. But I’m All about the retention baby so have long-term conversations when you negotiate with a brand.

Do you have a rate sheet? You can check out other rate sheets of people in your niche network to see how they write copy and charge for the relevant brands. That’ll be a lot more helpful than this sub, tbh.

How much for you to make a reel for me, if I give you all the content? Pictures + video with music?

For Instagram Stories, it’s common to charge less than for regular posts because of the lower reach and engagement. A good starting point is to charge about **50-70%** of what you’d charge for a standard post.

So, if you’re charging $150 for a regular post (based on your $10 per 1,000 followers rule), you might charge around **$75-$105** for a sponsored story with 2-3 slides.

This adjustment reflects the temporary nature and lower engagement of stories compared to feed posts. You can also consider factors like the brand’s budget and the effort required for creating the story content.

It depends on how much views you get on your stories. there are people out there with millions of followers that pull 5k story views or people with 15000 followers that get 5k story views. It all depends on the niche aswell as some accounts have a audience that is more monetizable (have more to spend, interested in more high selling tickets etc.)

Also, are you making original content for this story or simply posting what the company sends you?
