  • What people mean when they say “documentation over creation”?

    Hello everyone,

I have noticed someone people suggesting that “you should document, don’t create”, as in, “document your journey”.

What is that exactly and how do you do it? Why should you document over create?

    Thanks!

What was the context? If you’re aiming to be some kind of influencer, then I assume it means: Don’t invent a narrative or a persona. Just show people who you are and what you’re doing.

You’ve probably heard “document, don’t create.” It means sharing what you’re already doing instead of constantly coming up with new content. Post daily updates, behind-the-scenes, lessons learned, and progress on your projects.

People do it cause it’s more authentic and relatable, easier to maintain consistency, and people love seeing the real you. Plus, it’s less time-consuming than creating new content all the time.

So, just start sharing your journey. It’s easier, more genuine, and your audience will love it!

    Hope this helps!

Do they mean showing some behind the scenes stuff? I’ve been seeing some BTS content with the final version being a follow up video or post.

    **”Document, don’t create” means:**

    – Show your real life as it happens

    – Instead of making up perfect content

    **Why?**

    – It’s easier

    – People like real stories

    – You always have something to share

    **How?**

    – Share your daily work or learning

    – Show behind the scenes

    – Talk about problems and solutions

    – Share your thoughts

    **Its like:**

    – A chef showing cooking mistakes

    – A writer showing rough drafts

**You are just sharing what you are already doing.**
