I’m making 3D SNS, a much more accessible version of VRChat and existing platforms. I believe 3D content could be the next significant social media content type.

There may no longer be any social media in the AI era

Video content will remain in lead for quite a time still.. people are looking for something catchy and quick .. but I believe, in future, textual content that is engaging will find its way

I’m thinking Audio, with Spaces on X and the new audio live over on LinkedIn. I participated in both last week. Great for those that don’t like being on videos. Not only that but podcasts are doing very well!

This is a fascinating question and it sure felt like a fallow period before TikTok came along and it feels like we’re kinda there again / also dreading the onslaught of AI-generated slop. I think there’s something to that, whether it’s users utilizing generative AI to expand or uber-personalize content seeded by others (traditional creators) or users deciding how they want to consume content — i.e. turn a text piece into a video to consume and vice-versa
I think the next big thing could be around collaboration, though. Users within a community (or just a few friends) producing cross-medium content and ‘yes and-ing’ their way to stories
