    What are tiktok likes worth and I’m confused as to how to push my videos to the next stage

    So I’ve uploaded two videos today with the first video getting 152 views within the first hour with 46 likes and 34 comments and my 2nd vid got 478 views with 120 likes and 8 comments.

    So from what I’ve learned from reddit is that you need to get a certain amount of engagement within the first hour in order for it to get pushed and that continues and so on, but by looking at some of my previous videos but mainly these two especially I’ve gotten a 1/5 like ratio at least and a decent amount of comments and I’ve gained 60 followers from these two videos (I was on 252 before this) and after the first hour views just stop coming in or I occasionally get an extra view now and then but I assume that’s just from the following page.

    Also from watching the 482 view vid grow in views I noticed that my likes were coming in bursts so there was one point where it gained 50 views but there were 0 likes in that period but the next 20 views there was 12 likes extra (I don’t know if this makes a difference just something I found out)

    Guess what I’m trying to say is what more do I need to do to get videos pushed onto that next stage because I’ve got one video with 1400 views but only 41 likes but Ive also got a video with 152 views and that has more likes than the 1400 view vid

    Like any other social platform, you need to build equity on the platform, which means posting consistently high-quality content over a long period of time. Two videos and one day won’t tell you anything, and won’t give you data meaningful enough to build any kind of solid strategy on. You need to start with a content plan, and follow it daily for at least a few weeks, if not longer.

    I’ve been on tiktok since Feb and I’ve noticed that likes have very little to do with the algorithm because I’ve had videos blow up with very little likes! I think it really boils down to engagement/watch time, but likes do help!

    If people are sharing your video that helps significantly, but also commenting helps a lot too!!! I try to respond to as many comments as possible because;

    1.) you’re interacting with people and they usually follow if you’re friendly with them?

    2.) more responses = more engagement (even if it’s just a small conversation in a comment section)

    Try to be as social as possible in the comments!!!! I also recommend enabling the “pro” account option (it’s free!!) which allows you to see your analytics and what times your followers are most active!

    I always try to post at times with the most traffic which helps a lot! Hope this was helpful! Good luck!??

    I disagree with the “1 hour” approach – the accounts I manage have had several slow burn videos that took over 48 hours to reach critical mass, with some of our biggest ones having a million after a very slow start.

    The key we’ve found is clever use of hashtags (3 – 5 and don’t waste your time with #ForYou or #FYP), creative content that people will duet/reshare off of, and also using sounds. We’ve found using trending tracks helps with discoverability

    All it takes is a single viral content and it should start from there. I follow a local TikToker (if that’s what you call it), and he has some great videos. I had the opportunity to talk to him and he said that you really need to put an effort into your content. Stick to a specific niche and make it consistent.
