Not actually understanding website performance, and trying to boil it down to a single performance score.
Not taking into account accessibility and using alt tags as a keyword opportunity instead of their intended purpose.
Not understanding an elements semantic context (h1, h2, h3, li, aside, etc)
I spend a lot of time working with accessibility, so I’m a bit bias. But if your page is understandable with a screen reader, it’s a pretty good indication that search engines understand it.
