Giveaways aren’t a good way to gain followers long term. People will follow for the chance of winning, then unfollow when the giveaway is over.

However, if you still want to do it:
– Choose a product or service for the giveaway
– Do it with an influencer or brand (give additional reach)
– Asks to identify 2/3 friends in the post
– Share the post in stories Identifying your brand
– Use an app to get the winner -
Work with an influencer in your market. No sense in doing a giveaway to your current audience if you’re trying to expand it. You need the organic audience of someone people think they trust

But running giveaways can also be useless, because sometimes you gain followers but after few days, they will unfollow you. I experienced this when I run a giveaway months ago, I wanted to increase my followers number and I got a pretty decent number after and my engagement increased. But it was the only giveaways I run so after few weeks, I lost so many followers and my reach dropped again, so I was obliged to hire an agency named ascend viral to grow my account organically and getting me an audience who is interested in my content and not other things.
So this whole giveaways thing have two sides, it can help you a lot but can also affect your account later, and you will have to do them often to keep the followers.
