Hey everyone, I just launched a new website and wanted to boost traffic. So, I bought a service on Fiverr that promised to raise my Ahrefs DR (Domain Rating) to over 60 within 14 days using high-quality backlinks. I checked my backlinks almost daily, and right before the deadline, my DR went from 0 to 61 practically overnight.

Here's the thing that worries me: It seems like this jump might be due to just one or two backlinks. Considering the cost of the service, I'm concerned that this bump in DR won't actually translate to more traffic, making it a waste of money. Do you think I'm right?

Your domain authority won’t go up that quick overnight. It usually takes a lot longer than that. How’s your traffic looking? That’s the main thing.

Christ. Don’t ever buy shitty cheap backlinks and don’t use Fiverr. Spend a few hours taking a free SEO course if you don’t want to pay for proper SEO.

How they do it, they create redirect links direct from Google.com search and then create tier 2 and 3 backlinks to Google. After 3 months you are penalised.

I wouldn’t exactly say that you got scammed. If their service promised to raise your DR to over 60, then you got exactly what you paid for. I would certainly question the “high-quality backlinks” part of it, but anyone shopping on Fiverr should know that you won’t find a single high-quality link there.

You are correct to be concerned that the bump in DR won’t necessarily translate into traffic since DR has absolutely nothing to do with rankings or traffic.

Correct, it’s abuse of a 3rd party metric which likely won’t affect ranking at all.

Contrary to popular belief I think backlinks work, secondly getting them from fiverr is not my goto but still I got some good services done in the past by level 2 sellers. Not going deep into but do some research before hiring from fiverr.

And that scam thing that you, don’t mind but you deserved it. Why?
If you are into seo you must know there is no way someone can inflate your DR in 14 days. It’s not that simple
Secondly even if he did manipulate your seo stats. You will get penalized by google coz obviously it is a suspicious activity, getting that much authority in no time.

Seo takes time so do the DA DR’s or whatever the metrics you prefer.
