Due to the increasing amount of fake instagrams made of me, if i watermark all of my photos would that essentially make them copyrighted?
I’m trying to keep from making my profile private since i track my analytics

Water mark is a water mark. Copy right is a copy right. Not always the same thing.

No point in chasing copy right infringements unless the offender is making money off you or hurting your cash flow.

I suppose you could, it’s something I’ve thought about before, but unfortunately it will likely always be an uphill battle. Probably better time spend just reporting accounts if they’re stealing your photos and try to get them taken down that way.

Your images are copyrighted automatically. You do not need to register or watermark them.

If your images are consistently stolen, hire a service to file DMCA takedown requests. They run something like fifty bucks a month. Given your needs, that’s likely a good investment.

A watermark is not a copyright. Your work is already protected by the moment it was created and the watermark serves as a reminder to others not to steal your images because you are copyright protected.
