**Exactly. Reviews update starting from Apr 12.**
Two weeks in the beginning of April – were holidays, so you could experience a drop too.
Before this, we had another s*** in Mar, when core update took place.
So many factors play now, and yes – it’s super volatile now.

I’m noticing some shifts which always makes me suspicious. Product review update came out a couple of weeks ago so maybe related to that?

Google is now controlled by machine learning algorithms so it will adjust on the fly, it will make mistakes and it will be erratic. Don’t expect stable periods anymore.
At the same time don’t panic when things go bad, just wait for the algorithm to adjust again. -
Lately I’ve been experimenting with Trust Based Ranking.
It’s basically giving Google what they want.
I take my client’s website, and set up a clear communication channel between it, and Google, and then methodically and systematically, take steps to gain and build more and more google trust.
It’s cool because ‘ve found that I never worry about Google Algorithm updates.
