I loooove UGC and so does my audience, if you’re looking to create a sense of community you’re on the right track. But I work at a school board where our primary audience is parents and family members of existing students so take it with a grain of salt. I always say our social presence is 70% PR and 30% marketing.
How I do it:
– Add prompts in my weekly newsletters. We lean heavily on Days of Significance that line up with what students are learning about in school, events or any special programs.
– I spend a BIG chunk of my day scouring socials for things that staff members have shared about their class. There are usually a few feel-good posts per day that can be transformed into a proper long-form post. I typically just DM for permission and they always say yes because it looks so good for them.
– Tapping the eager beaver teachers and principals on the shoulder to send me things based on events/projects they’ve hosted in previous years.
– Visiting classrooms and school events to make content with them. Right now Iām interviewing kindergarten students for a FAQ series intended to help parents with the transition to kindergarten š
There’s prob more, I’ll add to this if I think of anything.
