Transferring usernames between accounts
I have 2 Instagram accounts that I own.
One I had been saving for some time with 0 followers and posts, but ultimately went with another username and made a second account. I still wanted to hang onto the original username just in case.
Now I have been using my secondary account and would like to transfer the original username to the new account. I changed the username on the 1st account, but it says “In most cases, you’ll be able to change your username back to xyz for another 7 days.” The username is unavailable to register.
After 7 days, I should be able to use the name on my new account, right?
I’ve spent the last several days emailing with Meta support after having a similar issue with my Facebook page, which they fixed with no issues. They are refusing to assist with the Instagram username change unless I have an ad account and legal business documents.

if the name’s any good, someone will autoclaim it lol. if not, just wait the 7 days
