Tracking Template or Auto-Tagging ?
Hi, is it better to just use Auto-Tagging and Ignore Tracking Template, if there is no external CRM in place ?. I am only using GA4.
Someone said that you can’t make audiences in GA4 from First Source = Google + Medium = cpc etc, if you don’t use tracking template/utm. Is it ture?

Source and Medium should get auto captured with auto tagging. Hopefully shouldn’t be a problem in creating audience.

Auto-tagging is perfectly fine all all you need if you are only using GA4 and no 3rd party services.
There are no limitations on audience creation as you can choose all of those filters based on auto-tagging data. Medium, source, etc., are included in the GCLID.

Use both. What do you have to choose?
Tracking templates are for CRMs and other third parties. Autotagging is for Google’s platforms.
