Tracking purchases back to ads on a separate domain.

    Hi all,

The company I work for has 2 separate websites, one to run PPC ads to, and another for organic traffic due to Google Ad restrictions. They do not link to one another.

Is there a way in GA4 to track if someone clicks on a paid ad, landing on the PPC site, leaves, then later googles the company and lands on the organic site to make a purchase? Can that final purchase be tied back to an ad? (Ad click -> Site A -> Browse around -> purchase from site B hours or days later)

The linker command won't work here as they're not directed to the organic site to purchase, but converting hours or days down the line.

    TIA!

Alas, what you’re describing is the third party cookie, and that has already begun to crumble…

Use UTM params and GA4’s cross-domain tracking to tie purchases back to ads.
