  • Tracking anchor link clicks in general?

I’m kind of new to GA so this might be a dumb question, but is it possible to track whether or not people are clicking on the internal links on a page, without having to set up a different event/tag for every piece of anchor text?

I basically want to see if people are using the links I place, but not looking for results from any link in particular.

GA4 already tracks every click event. So, you could create an additional event off these click events and use some other parameter to determine the internal links you want to track. Then register a custom dimension which, finally, you could use in reports and explorations.

Not a short answer, I know.

Most people don’t bother tracking all of their internal link clicks beyond what is captured by default. Page paths will reveal enough insight here, usually.
