Tiktok is an enigma
I’ll post a video, and it’ll do ok, get a little more than 1k views. Im happy about this and post another video, which does considerably worse. I mean completely flops. That’ll stay the trend. Have one video at about 1k views, the next video maybe 800, the next 600 (this is just a general idea), and so on until I post another video that gets 1k-ish views and the cycle repeats. Whats the deal? I would love some tips on how to push past this. I research a ton on when I should post, what are good times to do so, how do I make my content more engaging, etc.
Is there something im missing? Ive only been using tiktok since the summer of last year to post videos of my work. I’m not the best at making content yet, Im very new to the whole video format thing, but im wanting to learn.
Some background: I started posting videos under a business account, but felt cramped by the music choices available to me and constantly getting flagged for what they deemed inappropriate because of the nature of my work. I am a tattoo artist, and sometimes get dinged and censored, or the song choice suddenly is unavailable and then I get shadow banned. I switched my profile to a personal, and that has made navigating the app a little easier but im honestly still struggling.

TikTok is tough they are ruthless if ur video isn’t garnering enough engagement I’d try to make videos grab attention think of like how people use those viral clips of something crazy happening then transition into them doing the same thing good luck!

There’s no big difference between 600 and 1000 views. Treat those as getting the same exact amount of views.

yeah, same here, i did get one video with 20k views but that was an exception

TikTok algorithm is powerful

The trend cycle on TikTok is very fast moving. Unless you are full-time dedicated to it, it is incredibly hard to grow past the 1K or less grouping.
You either have to stay on top of the trend cycle of what whichever community is talking about.
Or you have to have a bit that is so recognizable that you are able to keep up with posting at least once or twice a week. But even then you should be posting more.

i remember the days i would get a million views so easily (2020 tiktok) i really thought that was the norm. Things have changed so much on that site :/
