  • TikTok for client being shown to my contacts?

Posted by PrincipessaUnikitty on July 28, 2024 at 9:04 am

    Hi!

I have a client who is thinking about adding TikTok. I'm more blogs and email vs social but they want me to do it if they decide to do it.

I've made other TikTok accounts for myself for fun using different emails and a VPN but the accounts are always shown to people I know. And people I know show up on my FYP.

If I end up creating a TikTok for my client, how can I prevent this?

Also does anyone know of a way I can get the fun accounts that I've already made to not be shown to the people I know?

    Thanks!

    Hey there! 🚀

Helping your client dive into TikTok sounds exciting, but I get the privacy concern. Here’s how you can keep things separate:

    # Creating a TikTok Account for Your Client

    1. **Use a New Device**: If possible, create the account on a device that hasn’t been used to create other TikTok accounts. This minimizes the chance of cross-referencing contacts.
    2. **Different Email and Phone Number**: Use a new email and phone number that aren’t linked to your personal or other business accounts.
    3. **Clear App Data**: Before creating a new account, clear the TikTok app data on the device to remove any cached information.
    4. **Adjust Privacy Settings**:
    * Go to “Privacy and Settings” and set the account to private.
    * Turn off “Sync Contacts and Facebook Friends” to prevent the app from linking your contacts.

    # Keeping Your Fun Accounts Private

    1. **Adjust Privacy Settings**:
    * On each account, go to “Privacy and Settings.”
    * Turn off “Suggest your account to others.”
    * Disable “Sync Contacts and Facebook Friends.”
    2. **New Device and VPN**: Continue using a VPN and consider using different devices for different accounts.
    3. **App Permissions**: Ensure the app doesn’t have permission to access your contacts.

    # Pro Tip

    * **Incognito Mode**: Use incognito mode or a private browser window when creating accounts to avoid linking cookies and browsing history.

These steps should help keep your client’s account separate and your fun accounts private. If you need more detailed guidance or run into any issues, feel free to ask! 😊🚀

Good luck with TikTok, and may your videos go viral (to the right audience)! 🌟
