  • TikTok doesn’t care about their creators. – A creator‘s perspective

This is a little summary of the experience I have with TikTok as a Creator with 2.5M+ followers.
It all started 2.5 years ago when i created my account. It all went smoothly and I applied for the creator program within the first week and easily got accepted. But from that point on, contacting TikTok or getting any brief support from them was basically impossible.
If you want know, my Account Name is @stickmanwar. I had the idea for the type of content im doing, and from time to time I saw people blatantly copying my exact content or just reuploading Videos.
So I contacted TikTok support. No answer at all. I reported the Accounts that reuploaded my exact Videos. No Updates on that. With this in mind i requested to let me have a verified badge, but obviously they also just didn’t answer – again. It’s gotten to the point where there’s multiple accounts that use a weird scheme to look exactly like my account to write my followers that they „won“ something to lure them on their website. Reported them a week ago, no Update, no Verified Badge for a 2.5M+ creator.
But it’s even worse. I recently needed to update my payment information and somehow my age got input falsely, making me under 18 years old, which lead to the removal of several mandatory features, like going Live or embedding a Link in the Bio. These are Both features that are very important for me as a creator, so i contacted them – multiple times – again. Nothing ever happened. No one ever answers. Why isn’t there a priority system for bigger creators ar least? The weird thing is, in the same time frame of asking the other questions, I also asked them about how the creator fund calculates the money output… and interestingly they answered that question just ONE DAY after I asked it.
I just don’t know what to do anymore.
TikTok seems to not care about their own creators. Specifically their creators will and ability to produce the content they‘d like.

From a brand perspective it’s the same. I run one of the most viewed and engaged accounts in Germany yet the support we get is super low. The only support we get is when we pay them.
We also noticed how little they care about their creators.

    Good luck

They all can’t be like YouTube or facebook

Ps- ask them about a consult regarding advertising over $10k to get on a call with them. That’s how it used to work with the other networks

Are they paying good at least? I always wondered how much the creators generally make

When do you people understand. You are just the product!

The clients are those who pay for your data. And that will remain the same as long as there is “free” social media. They only take care of the product while they are building an audience. Once it’s there you are just part of the data gathering system.

Tiktok also doesn’t have a reporting system for people stealing content or impersonating others.

Do whatever you can to move them off-app to somewhere you have more control. People have complained about platforms forever and they will continue to. It’s the risk you take when using them. Try to move people to another account, and/or email list, and slowly shift to another platform?

Try creating a business manager account for advertisers and filing a support ticket that way maybe.

Tiktok is a pathetic joke of a platform, I’ll admit without it, I wouldn’t be here today creating on YouTube and Facebook full time. But I had to fight tooth and nail to get unbanned 3 different times, they constantly hit me with BS community guidelines violations, and the creator fund is the most laughable profit sharing I’ve ever seen. Over 200 million views on that platform I ain’t got 5k to show for it. I just wish somebody would start a similar platform, and actually allow freedom of speech/expression without a Chinese agenda. And wish they’d actually pay their creators the money they’re due. The way they treat creators is absolute shit, and I won’t lie a part of me will relish in every second of them getting banned. It’s what they deserve…it would totally cripple those POS a holes, I look at their inventor and just wanna smack his stupid ass for the way he lets his platform be ran. Tiktok is garbage from top to bottom. The sooner you filter your ppl to YouTube and create a Facebook page, the happier you’ll be my friend. Instead of 500 dollars a month if I was lucky on Tiktok, if I don’t clear 15,000 I’ve had a down month. Facebook is a gold mine. Food for thought

Yea bro, don’t forget to make a Facebook page! F*** Instagram too they don’t pay jack nothing either, Facebook bought them and want ppl to go to Facebook because not a lot of people know about their watch platform. But no joke dude I make 4to5 times as much on Facebook as I do YouTube. Also, one of the best things you can do for one exploit the shorts and reels videos to grow. I’ve seen your Stick Figure videos bro I’ve seen your account they’re awesome so use the smaller short videos to grow faster. That’s how it works. It’s the best way to do it, but then for your longform videos, download CapCut or whatever you use to create your videos and compile a number of your TikTok videos into at least eight minute longform videos even if it’s a bunch of different ones just compile them together and create one long, eight minute video. This will get you established on YouTube and Facebook and monetize quicker. What it does it allows you to have beginning middle role in post roll ads and then you’ll start to make bank

I lived off my Tiktok compilations for almost a year str8 lol. But yeah, don’t be like other creators and create a whole Nother Shorts platform like Mr. Ballen for example, use the Shorts and post viral videos. For example, one short video on YouTube got 5 to 6,000,000 hits I gained over 20,000 followers or subscribers off at single one minute video.
