Thoughts on Hiring a Social Media Manager from Upwork
I currently run a small business which specialises in teaching English to people in Tech.
We are looking to grow our online presence and gain followers on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Mainly focussed on LinkedIn, since it’s more professional.
Ultimately we want to drive leads to our Newsletter which is hosted on Behiiv, and to our products on our website.
Has anyone hired a good socail media manager (SMM) that has grown their follower / user base through Upwork or any other platform?

Upwork SMMs can be hit or miss, set clear goals and track progress closely.

Sure! It also depends on your budget you will usually get what you pay for. But I own a social media agency and gotten plenty of
Clients from upwork and hired people myself! You get to view resumes and interview like any other hiring processI will say driving leads can work through organic social but you will probably get better results with paid social for capture leads. If you have the budget for it!

It’s basically shot in the dark. Could get someone descent or a complete waste of time and money.

I’m hired by someone who uses Upwork so I use it daily. We find that there’s a lot of spam/scam types and its worrying! However, there can be good workers found! So I would say tread carefully!
