Thoughts on creating a TikTok account for someone’s company
Posted by AnshulDalua on March 19, 2023 at 5:40 pmAn e-commerce company reached out to me and said they would pay me $25 flat out and a commission of 50cents per 1000 views for creating and posting content on their TikTok page. Does this sound reasonable?

GuestMarch 19, 2023 at 9:52 pmThis is horrifyingly low for the amount of work that goes into doing Tiktok properly.

GuestMarch 19, 2023 at 10:02 pmAbsolutely not omg. Do you know how many videos stay under 1000 views (especially when you’re first starting out)??? Not counting the work, effort, and time that goes into actually doing tiktok. No amount of free product is worth that.
Personally I would do: $50 per video minimum and keep the commission but negotiate to $1 per 1000 or 50c per 500. Or go for a monthly flat fee that guarantees x# of videos (higher rate, higher amount of vids) and scrap the commission.

GuestMarch 19, 2023 at 11:24 pmNoooo that is completely unreasonable for the amount of work that would involve. That is insultingly low and I’m guessing they’re pretty detached from social media marketing or else do not value it or your time at alllll.

GuestMarch 20, 2023 at 2:08 amGet the contract in writing and signed. Post it on their TikTok with a caption “make this go viral”. Profit.

GuestMarch 20, 2023 at 3:46 pmAds on TikTok average about $0.003 CPV (cost per view) or $3 per 1,000 views. This doesn’t take into account the work going into creating content.
Assuming you’re not doing professionally produced videos and creating just quick hit content, maybe $100 per video + what I outlined above
