The same sites are always in Top Stories Carousel in Google, and featured in Google news, is this truly an Algorithm or bias just like with YouTube featured?
Whats going on? I keep searching stuff out of curiosity and the same websites will rank in the top stories carousel, and in google news search. I typed in a keyword and one website had 5 of the 10 spots, its usually websites like Essential Sports, SportsKeeda, Marca especially on mobile search.
The other sites are all big news corps sites like fox, cnn, msn, espn, huffpo, no more independent media. If you are a niche news blog you are lucky to even get one of those positions, the major news will just get it even if they dont specialize in that niche.
Is this algorithm fair or what? before there was at least a variety but its the same websites. It reminds me of youtube where the people who work there pick and choose which gets featured on the front page, which was usually that Jeffree star guy, the mr beast, and other channels that they force onto us this doesnt seem like a random algorithm of fairness more so seems biased.
