The Framework used By Steve Jobs to Build Apple into A Marketing Giant!
Steve’s Personal Brand & his traits played a massive role in growing Apple as one of the best Tech Brands when he was alive.
Here’s an overview of what framework he used that works for Entrepreneurs well.##Pitching:
Steve was good at pitching his Ideas with clarity, and he used a lot of verbal & visual words in his presentation to make people buy into his idea of Apple Computers.
Steve wasn’t selling the brand story in the early days of Apple, not even the benefits of Apple computers. He was selling a new behavior that consumers would adopt when they use Macintosh.
In 2023, You can convince your consumers through brand stories and sharing a new vision, but it’s hard to put the viewer in your shoes when you pitch the idea to them. That’s why explaining why and focusing on consumer traits always work during the pitches.
##Content Marketing
It’s hard to believe that Steve spoke at Product launches & Presentations without preparing for them. Steve was using different speaking platforms to get the message about Apple out, and he wasn’t just speaking words about Apple.
His policies spoke only about What He wanted people to know about Apple because more context builds more people’s personas about the brand.
In 2022, Brands have chosen two different paths where few are going for Brand Awareness with broad content and are well-known but suffer a lot during recessions. In comparison, some have chosen a route like Apple and given content that only resonates with the Brand values, which helps them build better audiences and stay relevant.
In simple words, Brands need to create content around their initial pitch that they made, in the beginning, to do better in the long term and engage customers.
##Building Product Ecosystem
Apple’s ecosystem is one of the most addictive product systems. Steve and Apple, from the beginning, surveyed consumers to understand how they viewed their critical products like iPhone & Macintosh.
Once they understood, What attracted the consumers the most, like iPhone, they started building more products around it.
In 2022, What Brands like ScrubDaddy and many others do is position their main product while previewing that main product. They preview the usage of that products and show use cases indirectly in the campaigns. That makes people purchase both products and join the ecosystem.
##Partnering
Steve partnered with people that were better than him to grow Apple. Building a Business takes more than one-key person of influence who was Steve himself. That’s why he was always into hiring people better than him to make the product better.
In 2022, it’s an even bigger case that employees have more voice than CEOs in some industries. A better work environment and keeping your employees loyal to the business are more challenging.
Entrepreneurs having people working under them need to organize more workshops, and sharing digital courses with them is now essential to increase their skills and loyalty toward the business.
##If you don’t like Steve Job
Steve Jobs is Not flawless. He had flaws, some of which were bad, but he was good at marketing and influencing people. And that was normal because, believe it or not, Tech & Marketing people aren’t that friendly when they work together. There can be misunderstandings.
The principles he and his marketing agency applied to market Apple at that time also work like a charm today!
* Content plays an essential role in building your business.
* Being clever with words and copywriting.
* Surveying the Audience from time to time
* Creating a great upsell and downsell strategy.
* Networking to get your product at better marketplaces.
* He understood Design & Typography Principles, which typefaces work better for products or campaigns.
* Having a long-term Brand messagingSome people think Steve didn’t build Apple, but Stephen Gary Wozniak did. Stephen did his part, but Steve was the one to give Apple the platform and partner with people. It’s almost like saying Ideas will grow themselves. They don’t. You need to put the work in to develop them, and that’s what steve did.
Steve also failed with marketing stuff. Apple’s Lisa computer failed with a massive level of marketing. And after that, in one interview, Steve said you shouldn’t market quality for your product unless you have earned it from people.
