    Hi Everyone,

I have a client who runs a YMYL website ( they have just started a few months ago ) , everything was going well, but a few days ago they saw a drop in the DR, whereas all the other stats are constantly increasing.

While checking on Semrush, it shows the opposite… According to them DA has increased ( From 12 to 14 )

    Any ideas what's happening?

    Notes:

    1. No, I didn't buy any backlinks, or guest posts on any websites, the backlinks were build from directory sites ( for the niche ) & profile links ( 0 Spam Score ).
    2. No changes were made to either the content/website.
    3. There's 0 suspicious link ( according to semrush ) and the toxicity score is 0.

Honestly, I don’t know why you’re even bothering with looking at metrics like DA and DR, they really mean nothing when it comes to actual rankings.

For a drop, though, could be a simple as a change in how that tool provider calculates that metric.

As you can see, the various tool providers make up their own metrics and calculate them different ways, thus one will say one thing and another will say something completely different.

That’s why I personally don’t bother even checking what those metrics are. They don’t meant anything really.
