    Hi all! UK-based SMM here.

I’m planning out my social posts for the coming week, and of course, we have the Coronation coming up. I’m not really a fan of the royals and the monarchy but obviously have to say something as my boss wouldn’t be happy if we didn’t, but I’m completely stumped as to how to approach this from a copy point of view for our channels.

Is it a case of a simple “congratulations on your coronation?” or would there be a better term?

Jesus christ, just don’t (unless your company has an actual link to it). Not everything needs to be content.

Just like the Charles our products are crowned King.
Our customers will always receive the royal treatment!

If your business doesn’t want to convey approval of the monarchy, then focus on it as a national event – i.e. ‘Have a great weekend’ or ‘Enjoy the celebrations’. There may be more relevant comments depending on your industry.

I work for a deaf led charity and we’ve got a nice image about deafness in the Royal Family!

Finding it tricky also – there seems to be limited guidance on actual copy for the posts. As we are a global charity I have approached the copy as a general news item – I will also be including information on how the Royals are linked with our charity (the Queen was previously our Patron) and with the industry. So overall probably more of an informative piece for our international audience!
