Suspended Merchant Center Account also killed Our search Organic Merchant Listings (Structured Product Data)… How to Restore??
Hello.
A few weeks ago, we lost our ability to advertise on Google Shopping when our Merchant Center account was suspended for having an incomplete checkout experience (we have no ecommerce system in place and operate via lead generation, with deals closed by a salesman). We have been transitioning to a lead-generation based strategy (originally PMax, now exploring traditional search campaigns), however we noticed that one of our main competitors listings is appearing in the non-sponsored section that google titles: "This is info that Google gathered about products available to buy", which are basically like mini shopping listings. This competitor is 100% not running Google Shopping ads on these products, because he is also not in compliance with Shopping ad policies (i.e. a customer must receive a custom shipping quote before completing payment). It looks like he's appearing because he added the structured Product data to the markup of his website.
So, I began researching how to replicate that to allow us to begin appearing in this section. However, I then noticed from accessing search.google.com, that we actually still have 1.78k approved merchant listings, however the impressions on these all went to 0 on the 19th of May when our Merchant Center account was suspended. So it appears that either a) the structured product data already exists on our site or b) the product data is being taken from our Merchant Center account, but that in either case, the suspension of our Merchant Center account is PREVENTING these organic results from appearing in the relevant section, even though they're technically valid search results.
Does anyone have any idea how to proceed with this situation? The fact that these products exist as items in a feed of a suspended Merchant Center account is likely causing them not to appear, however I have no idea how to begin.. Should I attempt to disassociate all of the products from the suspended Merchant Center account somehow, and then try to manually add the structured Product data to the markup? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
