GuestOctober 25, 2022 at 2:04 pmMost people I have seen who were affected were affected rightfully. The effected people I saw are split 50:50:
– 50% niche site people complaining that their MFA niche site was affected, not realising that MFA sites are a form of spam.
– 50% SEOs who had spammy test projects (PPA, GPT-3, Jarvis, etc.) -

GuestOctober 25, 2022 at 3:46 pmSeen two get hit which frankly deserved to.
First one, site where every article had a very obvious paid link in it (exact match anchor). Rankings across site dropped from page 1 to page 8 for most terms over night.
Client I did the audit for refuses to stop selling links as she’s making 60k per year from it. Ok burn your site into the ground then…Second one, again audit to see why traffic drop. Ads and skimlinks and god know what everywhere, insanely aggressive.

GuestOctober 25, 2022 at 4:09 pmI got rocked. My site is about data. I have the best data (meaning most up to date and accurate) in my niche and it’s in an easily digestible format. But Google wants articles so the content is more “unique”.
Can you imagine if weather websites bowed to Google and followed suit? Imagine searching for the weather in LA and you have to read a f-ing article that goes something like “If you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles, you’ll definitely need to bring a variety of clothes as the weather in Los Angeles changes from day to day. Founded in 1822, Los Angeles is home to an array of cultures and blah blah blah” And 10 paragraphs later you get the forecast. Ridiculous.
New pages on my site aren’t getting indexed as of a week ago. If you search for that data on Google, NONE of the results give you the answer. But Google refuses to index my page that has the answer.

GuestOctober 25, 2022 at 5:19 pmI didn’t see anything significant, though I am curious if any of you were hit by the helpful content update. One of my sites took a significant nosedive, particularly in impressions. To the point where I really wouldn’t call it a normal fluctuation.

GuestOctober 26, 2022 at 10:44 amMy keywords ranking dropped from the first page to the fifth page.
I thoughts it happened by the new Spam Policies update.
