How does Google look at sitewide links in the form of ads… if you pay for advertising and the site puts the ad on every page as do-follow is that a problem? (same niche) thx all

If you are talking about getting links on footers of other sites, so that your link appears on every page, that could lead to a penalty due to unnatural linking.
I had this happen to me. i had a web design & hosting site that got penalized because of this and all I had was “website designed by” links on my client’s sites. Took me what felt like years to overcome it, even after removing all the links.
