  • Should I use a green checkmark in my page description/title to make search results more attractive?

I came across some search results in Google that had a big green checkmark (U+2705) in the title and description. The checkmark makes the results a lot more attractive i think.

Do you think search engines penalize this in any way?
Is it a good/bad thing to do?

Its used heavily by casino affiliates and other highly competive affiliate niches. People even add them into FAQ schemas, making the serp look like vomit.

I’m not a big fan and I think it looks spammy. I also think Google will remove emojis from 99% of search results cause people are missusing it.

Personally, I’d avoid it. Even for casino sites (I’ve got expereince in that sector 😉

Do it, it improves CTR. But 95% of emojis will be stripped out by Google not many will actually show.

So try out if google uses the meta you provided them you’ll have a CTR if it doesn’t get used, then you haven’t lost anything
