There has been a boom of short-form social video content, but the variety and amount of content being created and consumed makes it hard to determine any broad positive or negative effects. A lot of the focus is on the size of the general market, and everything is tooled to get the maximum possible engagement [by whatever metrics platforms use to determine engagement], but that trend seems to be on its way out. You can already see platform engagement start to shift to places that are discreet, gated, or focused on special interests.
