    Updates

Nope, no updates this week either.

Google continues to stay silent about the core update.

But they’re definitely up to something because we’ve been seeing volatility again on August 9-10 which was too strong to be just your usual weekly algorithm tweaks.

    • (test) Grouping of "People Also Search For" entities by connection type

Sorry, we really did try to come up with a less boring headline.

    Here’s the gist:

When you previously searched for something or someone like Elon Musk, the “People Also Search For” section would include his wife, projects, and anything else all mixed together.

But now, all those entities are neatly organized—here’s his family, here are his colleagues, and so on.

This update might seem minor, but it’s important in the context of the bigger picture:

It’s another sign that it’s time to pay more attention to semantic SEO and entity SEO.

    • (test) “See also” in GBP listings

Google is now recommending your competitors to potential clients right on your own listing.

And there’s nothing we can do about it.

    Google Trends

The Trending Now page has been updated

A brand-new layout, more info, filters, and an export option.

    We really like it.

    Tidbits

    • TikTok has partnered with Amazon

From here on out, Amazon ads will be featured on TikTok.

On top of that, if the accounts on both platforms are linked, TikTok users will be able to purchase products directly from the social platform.

Our favorites are commands like “don’t make up facts” and “don’t hallucinate”

While the whole world is trying to figure out how to improve AI-generated results, Apple seems to have found a way out.

    • Google is shutting down AdSense monetization for russia-based accounts

Another source mentions that they’ll also shut down AdMob and Ad Manager.

Plus, monetization won’t just be paused—once the final payouts are made between August 21-26, all accounts will be deactivated.

    >TikTok has partnered with Amazon

So, where are all the people who were shouting about a TikTok ban in the US? I think we can definitely consider TikTok as the next “Reddit” for Google. Indexing TikTok videos for commercial keywords could be the next big project lol

Amazon has tried to create their own version of TikTok kinda. It’s where they have customers making videos of how to use products and so on. The thing is people don’t really want to be directly sold to anymore. At least that’s what I’m finding.
