    Hey there,

I have a couple questions I have never been able to find clarity on.

So if i am targeting a specific keyword to rank for, should i have that keyword on all my website pages?

For example i sell mushroom grow kits. It is my main product. I post 2 blog posts a week, and I have been putting “mushroom grow kit” inside each article just once. I place it in there seamlessly. all articles are different and talk about many different topics within mushrooms and mycology. When i started doing this I started to rank a few months after. But Eventually i lost my rank and I didn’t change my method. So i am still adding that keyword to each blog post. I have over 30 posts now all unique but they all have that keyword in each one. I have then learned about “keyword cannabilization” and i think i may be doing this…. I also have read that you only need ONE good page using your keyword and no more. I read each page should target its own keyword. So im confused because using my keyword a lot (on every page and blog post) worked to get me ranked, but since im no longer ranking I am not sure the reason because nothing changed.

When they say you only need ONE good page with your keyword, If this is the case, I am confused then as to why one would need to continuously put out new content if all you need is “one good page with your one keyword” ? I have been told my experts “content, content, content!” But then i read from other experts saying “only one page per keyword!” So I’m just lost really lol!

I also never really targeted any other keywords as I was worried it would take my rank away and take googles focus off the main keyword.

Any clarity would be so much appreciated. I have spent lots of money on “seo experts” and i have not seen any clear improvements. the only time i saw great success was after i wrote over 20 blog posts with the same keyword in them. And any pointers on how you think i should proceed with trying to get my rank back would be soooo much appreciated! I am also open to hiring help for my seo If i meet the right person but i am so wary since the last few guys i hired didnt help much. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated! I am hoping to have clear steps of action as Im just shooting in the dark with my SEO

Yes, you should target a single keyword per page. What you can do is use longtail keywords to give more specificity to your pages.

I’m assuming that each page focuses on a specific aspect of mushroom growing. If they are targeting more specific keywords, that would help. Does GSC give you any indication about the issue?

Rankings do not just rely on keyword content. If I were you, I would type in my keyword into Google, check the top ranking pages and then build a page that is better than these in quality.

Engagement/retention and website popularity is what also helps get you to the top. Increase user engagement/retention on your site with things like questionnaires, videos or how to guides.

You will also want to work on building at least 20 back links to your site to give your website search engine credibility.

Any questions just ask. Good luck.
