SEO Freelancer wants to get away from “exchanging time for money” and start an online shop – but for what?
I am from Germany and work as a SEO Freelancer. I mainly have two bigger clients I manage and I change the place I stay every few months while working remotely, currently I am in Latin America. I am exactly where I wished to be a few years ago. I work around 30 hours a week and the payment is good. But, I would like to move away from exchanging my time as a freelancer to work and receive money.. and move more towards generating money passively through SEO. One reason for this is because I want to become more independent, but the main reason actually is health related because of my eyes. From the close-up work my whole life my eyes are not in an optimal condition anymore, I don see sharp in the distance and I get headaches every time I do close up work.. like being on my computer to work. Reducing that as much as possible while working on the treatment for my eyes would improve my eyes condition in the future. Which is the main reason I would like to not HAVE to be on my laptop to work to get money. (And no, the fault is not a wrong prescription in my glasses or similar, I went to many different optometrists).
I am thinking of doing an online shop. I have quite the knowledge about WordPress, I have done SEO for e-commerce in the past and it worked pretty well, so I dont see a problem in just starting with that. The only thing I am clueless about is, what should the online shop be about? What should it sell? I am working remotely from other country and will stay outside of my home in Germany for an unspecified time. I will be in another country every 3-4 months. So it won’t be that easy to sell something physical. Even if, what could it be? Something digital would probably be even more difficult. And drop shipping has long delivery times.
I know that no one here can tell me “sell product xy – it will make you a lot of money”. If it would be that easy the person would start doing it herself obviously. I am just asking you guys to hopefully get some insight or tips how to figure out what I could sell or how to get ideas about it.

Find out what affiliate networks there are in Germany and build affiliate site based on some product or service. For example Adtraction has 120 affiliate campaigns in Germany at the moment and of course there are many other networks working in Germany too. Of course it requires that you can produce tons of quality content of some product or service. So it is not fast way and definitely not easy.
