Having well-optimized, interesting, relevant content and on-page characteristics in the first place is the best remedy.

What are you doing to increase your traffic? What aren’t you doing?

The name of the algorithm is ‘helpful content’. Google also released ‘spam update’ just few days back. You need to check for following issues to save yourself from being punished

    1. **Disown all the spammy backlinks.** If you’ve run any link purchase program in the past, keep the good ones, get rid of the bad backlinks by disowning them.**Good backlinks are the backlinks from high authority sites from your sector.** The best way to get them is to build the content that gets shared in your domain.
    2. Remove any articles written with AI content. If you hired low quality freelance content writers, chances are that they sold you AI generated content. AI content in itself isn’t bad if used properly.**AI should be used as an assistant writer and not as an author.**
    3. Check if you’ve **keyword stuffing or duplicate content** on any page.
    4. **Remove all comment backlinks** if you created any in the past
    5. Check your categories. Make sure your posts are closely related to each other
    6. Make sure that your site loads faster. Though I have seen sites with much lower loading speed beating the faster sites. This doesn’t seem to affect if you’ve managed all other factors well.
    7. Your site should be accessible and should follow best practices. Best practices here mean better html structure.
    8. Should have **mobile friendly UI**
    9. Update your content and make it fresh if possible. Don’t do small changes but add new section if possible, e.g. FAQs.

These are the few points that come to my mind related to your problem. Others can correct them or add new ones into the list.
