  • SEMrush or Ahrefs? Which one working best nowadays?

As i am working on SEO and Google Ads both at the same time, I'm curious which tool might be better off for both activities, previously I have been using ahrefs paid plan and it was smooth so far but as I'm entering in to google ads also, I have heard that keyword research and project management + reporting is far better on SEMrush as compared to ahref… whats your take on this?

I think it depends on what’s important for you. I work with [Wordtracker.com](http://Wordtracker.com) and we’ve been focussing the tool on offering a really robust and streamlined KW research tool. However we are never going to compete on the suite of features which tools like SEMRush can offer. If you want a one stop shop for everything from rankings to backlinks then those platforms are the place.

However what I am seeing an increasing amount of is people looking for a simple straightforward keyword tool, something that does keywords, competitors and rankings. I’m not sure about the project management part, Wordtracker uses lists to allow you to structure your keyword research. But I don’t think the other tools offer indepth ways of building out kw research. Generally that’s an export to excel sort of task.

Personally, I use Semrush, and it does everything I need it to do. I think Ahrefs is fine, but if I remember correctly, they increase their prices a lot.

    Hi there!

We offer a huge keyword database and we can share a study link if you DM us.
Plus, we’ve recently updated our Keyword Manager Tool (KMT) for automatic Semantic Core collection, added more SERP features, and a language filter in KMT.

As for the reporting, we offer beautiful PDF reports, fully customizable, with data integration from GA, GSC, and Google Business Profile. Oh, and you can connect it to Google Looker Studio for even easier reporting.

We can connect you with a person to show you around and tell you more, just DM us your email address. – Vic

i only have semrush but pretty disappointed except the site audit, most of the backlinks are not found (google & bing show the in the manager).

maybe its cause my website is in the limbo cause of unknown reason. (ecommerce site with no affiliate stuff)

Given the choice SEMRush. Cheaper. No credits BS. I’ve never had much issue with it.

AHRefs still has a better handling database but you can access at least part of it free.

In a pinch I’d probably pay someone on fiver $5 to generate a backlinks report from AHRefs if I really needed it.

I only got a small taste of Ahrefs before our agency picked Semrush in favour of it due to pricing

I have never worked with SEMrush before but i will soon start a New Job where it is used and i am pretty excited.

I have never been that Fond of Ahrefs. The backlink tool as well as the Keyword Ranking history is dope but other than that? Meh

Considering they both just pull their numbers out of thin air I don’t really understand why anyone ever paid for either

I mean, if you want me to make some guesses that will be as much as 90% off the actual numbers I am more than happy to do that for ya

I prefer Semrush. You’ll especially find it more useful if you are getting into search ads.

Semrush does indeed have a lot of reporting features and some useful integrations with Looker Studio for more customization as well.

I like Semrush’s tools for competitor analysis, keyword research, topic generation, and content marketing better. I’m not a big fan of domain ranking type metrics, but I love the transparency of Semrush’s. They tell you exactly why they ranked a domain or page the way they did.

For me at the moment Semrush. Ahrefs is overpriced. Great tool for going deep into comp analysis but if your looking for KW research etc more go with Semrush.

I use SEMRush and really enjoy the Trends feature when comparing against competitors. But I think Ahrefs does a little better when looking at backlinking data and opportunities (fresh date). Also, with Ahrefs…their YouTube channel is really good.

SEMRush is awesome for paid in my opinion. Also, as you mentioned, the reporting in SEMRush is great. But I’ll read the comments as well…I’m always going back and forth on with I would need bc I have used Ahrefs in the past. I moved away from it bc the business was more focused on competitor analysis and paid media, which I think SEMRush is way better. Sorry for being all over the place with the answer.

Both Ahrefs and SEMrush are excellent SEO tools, each with its own strengths. Ahrefs is known for its backlink analysis, while SEMrush offers a wider range of tools including comprehensive keyword research and competitor analysis. Ultimately, the best tool for you depends on your specific needs and preferences. Many professionals use both to get a comprehensive view of their SEO strategy.

Neither. They are both equally hamjstruing in guessing KD volumes and difficulty. But SEMrush really doesn’t have a good project management
