    1) For an ecomm supplement site, what is *better*:

    Branded or Non-Branded taffic?

    2) In what situations would you want to increase one over the other?

    3) What steps would you take to increase Branded Traffic? And Non-Branded?

    Branded is a lagging indicator as well as a leading indicator of the success of marketing combined operations, customer satisfaction and a direct KPI of PR.

    One isn’t better than the other – they are usually related but might not be . It depebds on relationship over time….

    Branded is also a weave of keywords. Just brand on its own could indicate long term return traffic or PR outcomes, while branded+generic is a sign of short-medium return traffic

    2&3) not sure you would want to engineer this situations except from r PR.

    Both are important. Branded is more sustainable long term but can often lag as mentioned above. Generally as an SEO, I’ll target non-branded keywords (potentially complement with Paid Search) and then leverage Digital PR or more traditional marketing methods to improve branded search.

    Generally speaking (and verrry general, and it’s my personal opinion):

    Big business – focus on non-branded
    Small business – focus on branded
