Seeking Career Advice – Transitioning to PPC from Marketing Intern or SEO Intern Role
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to start a career in PPC, but I’m not sure how to begin. I have been looking for a job in PPC as an intern or fresher, but it’s very rare that I see one. However, there are marketing intern and SEO intern positions available. I am more interested in PPC. And I understand why there are no positions available for PPC as an intern or as a fresher.
At least for now, I have two options: a marketing intern position or an SEO intern position.
I will have the opportunity to work as a marketing intern, where I’ll be exposed to various aspects of digital marketing, including PPC.
On the other hand, there is an SEO intern position available as well.
I’ve also heard that transitioning from SEO to PPC might involve starting at an entry-level position in PPC. Is this true?

Start somewhere and work your way up. On the way up, you’ll have opportunities to go sideways if you join a larger company.
I started with Content but went Project Management > SEO > PPC > Management > SEO + Content + Management > PPC (+ still doing SEO on the side) > and now SEO + PPC over the span of 9 years.
It’s a lot of work, a lot of things to learn, but it pays off later I think… it’ll depend on the opportunities you can seize, really.
