Curious what recommendations people have for me. I'm a sales person for industrial equipment (forklifts), work for a dealership, and want to leverage my LinkedIn connections that I've built to stay top of mind.

    Here are some facts:
-I don't have any skills making memes
-I don't have any skills making instructional/informative videos or any kind of videos
-I have a list of video ideas but most would require props or costumes/makeup. Not sure if it makes sense to invest in that.
-I'm happy to be in front of the camera but not jacked about it because I'm a bit afraid to be made fun of.

What can I do to make some strong first steps I can take? And what should I be worried about by setting up a titktok or Instagram account and reposting to LinkedIn?

You don’t need to put on a show to build your personal brand on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is an excellent platform for networking. Start by choosing three content pillars, such as news, informative content, and promotional material. Then, decide on the topics you want to focus on.

    – Share stories about your journey as a salesperson.
    – What are your sales techniques?
    – How did you become a salesperson?

LinkedIn offers various content formats. You can start by writing posts and gradually explore other formats as you become more comfortable.

The key is to be consistent. Set a posting schedule, like three times a week, and stick to it.

    Good luck!

I would stick to knowledge and community based posts. Talk or share information about your customers/prospects industries. Business tips always work great if your customers are small to medium sized business owners/managers, etc.

The best place to start is looking at competitors, what your customer are talking about or engaging with online and other businesses selling to your customers that aren’t competitors.

Get an idea on what types of things that are getting engagement and put your own spin on similar posts. Also, create posts that answer questions you get from customers.

You might consider curating relevant news and commenting on it.

If lack of forklift can cause injuries, then highlighting lawsuits, fresh statistics, and even new product use cases or safety tips could be relevant to your audience.

    I doubt there is a forkliftnews.com

    Not specific advice, but general;
Every time you post, ask yourself; how is this post benefiting my followers? Is it funny enough for them to laugh and share with a friend? Is it educational? Is it generally entertaining? Etc it could be many different things, but it should almost always serve them and be somewhat relevant to your niche.

one thing a lot of people get wrong when getting started on something is to actually get started.
That’s it. You don’t need any big production values or high quality editing. Just record a video and post it.

You don’t need to be a photoshop or canva wizard. Just make a simple poster or use AI and post it.
Just start writing and posting content on LinkedIn. Make a pact with yourself that you’ll post at least thrice a week and post whatever 100-300 words that you can.

All you need to do is create some value for your ideal client & put yourself in front of the people. Don’t worry about engagement or likes. Just start doing it. Once you get a hang of things, your content quality will start improving automatically.

To streamline your efforts, consider repurposing content across different platforms. For example, an in-depth LinkedIn article can be condensed into shorter posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok. Engaging authentically in industry discussions and commenting on relevant posts can also help build relationships and expand your reach. If creating videos seems daunting, start with simple, low-cost options like basic tutorials or live Q&A sessions. These can be effective and require minimal investment in props or costumes. By implementing these strategies, you can develop a strong social media presence while minimizing the need for extensive skills or heavy investment.
