    Request for recommendations on website builder for new business that will run PPC ads

    Posted by seohelper on May 12, 2020 at 12:20 pm

    I plan to build a website to sell a product for local next day delivery and plan on heavily relying on PPC ads for sales.

    Is there a consensus on the most PPC-ad-friendly website builder out there? I was planning on using Shopify, but open to suggestions.

    Thanks!

    Edit: Confusingly worded title. The business will run PPC ads to get people to buy the product on the website. Didn’t mean that the website will show ads.

    There are a few questions you should consider:

    * Are you planning to do payment process through the ecom platform as well?
    * Do you plan to do any programming?
    * What are the margins like? Will the platform and payment processing fees PLUS the ad cost make things unprofitable?

    Here’s a list of other competitors for Shopify:

    * woocommerce
    * magento
    * opencart
    * bigcommerce
    * wix

    Alternatively, you can probably look into using WP and a payment processor like PayPal, Sqaure, Stripe. These are great if you have a static list of products and inventory control isn’t complicated.

    Bet in 6 months time OP has forgotten all about his billion dorra eCommerce idea meaning everyone who contributed to this thread wasted their time.

    On the real though op, the guys over at r/Entrepreneur or r/startups will be better equipped to answer your question. Those boys are cracked when it comes to fly-by-night eCommerce “ventures”, free website builders, 0 effort “startups”, free word press themed websites full of buzzwords etc.

    If its a single product, the most cost effective solution will be a wordpress site with woocommerce using some landing page builder like elementor or divi. As far as ease of use for your sake, Shopify would be the best solution. If you plan on introducing more products, I would go with Shopify.

    In all reality, none of them are any more or less favorable for running ad traffic to.

    It comes down to how much you want to pay and how scaleable it needs to be in the medium term. Most simple businesses with just a few products will be quite adequately served by online site builders. I’ve used Weebly, Squarespace and a few others quite successfully in this regard but they do have a few customisation limitations. However they are really cheap to run and you won’t be reliant on expensive developers time to build and maintain them. You do need to have a bit of knowledge to get them set up well. e.g. How to install tracking code for your PPC sales, configuring the domain name and setting up properly for SEO. You can be up and running quickly with these too. And FWIW I am a developer with over 25 years experience.

    I’ve been doing some research on this topic as well, specifically Wix vs WordPress. Several blog posts authors are concerned about Wix page load time, which would definitely increase the bounce rate. They recommend WP and Woocommerce instead. Also, I’ve used Shopify and it’s pretty easy to use and it has some nice integrations, can’t remember about that load time though.
