  • Republishing a popular article for backlinks?

I’ve created a number of articles for my niche to be used as guest posting opportunities. I have two backlinks in the bio to my experience travel website in Ireland.

I’ve done a bit of research and identified a number of web publications I’d like to feature in. The article has already been published twice on different referring domains.

Google doesn’t actually penalize duplicate content AFAIK, that’s a myth. But it helps if you have a canonical tag. The problem is though, some publications use their own CMS and may not be able to place a canonical tab on my article republished page with ease.

    Questions:

    1) Can I publish this article on my blog?

    2) Can I shop this article for other web publications? While changing the backlink anchor text and also requesting Do Follow backlinks with a request that the web dev included a canonical tag back to my original blog post on my website.

Does this sound good? Any advice pls?

You can but I wouldn’t, google doesn’t penalise duplicate content but it won’t rank it, republishing. Articles is not a good way to use your time and the exact opposite of what you should be doing

I guess my question is this; will the backlinks still count if other same-niche websites publish this duplicate content on their websites?
