I am posting this here because I am having issues with page indexing on GSC. I have tried for a while to fix the issue or find clear instructions. My pages are no longer indexed due to reditect error. What I am trying to figure out is the relationshipt between GSC, sitemap, href links and primary domain of the website. Also, if I have do just simply be uniform across the board, is it better practice to use www or not.

    Thank you

    Edit:
The "google-selected canonial" is pointef to www version of my pages.

I would say choose either www or non-www as your primary domain and stick with it everywhere – GSC, sitemap, and internal links… Redirect the non-preferred version to the preferred one… Generally, non-www is simpler, but either works if implemented consistently…

Choose one “www” or non-“www” version of your domain as the preferred one. Implement 301 redirects from the non-preferred version to the preferred one, update your sitemap to reflect this choice, and adjust internal links accordingly. Uniform approach will help avoid duplicate content issues and improve your site’s indexing.
