I curiously checked if the latest spam update has did some good work for bloggers by checking the rankings of quora and reddit in my cricket niche blogging (criceye.com), I searched on many keywords but currently I can see that, normal search results are coming back as we used to see before March core update 2024.

Although there are some keywords on which quora and reddit were in top 10 ( like 10 out of 2 keywords) but I think we can be hopefull that at least the favorism towards the forum website might end becuase of this update which was going on after the last core update.

Would like to hear what you are currently seeing in your niche, are forum websites still ranking in top 10 ?

Well this ones quite the re-sort.
Looks like they’re letting a few blogs and a bunch of smaller forums back in.

So after HCU 2, I’ve found that they occupy 40% of the top 10 in serps for brands in the industries I manage. Google has an agreement to feed their LLMs with them so they give them priority.

If you look at keywords prior to last year you’ll see they appear in December and gain prominence around March. A lot of brands are now focused on having brand prominence on those posts. It will get worse.

Oh, how wonderful. The Google experiments continue. Additionally, they have moved Google Business listings elsewhere after they had been in the correct place for years. Very professional! What’s next?
