    Hi r/SEO!

I’m a software engineer turned director of technology who’s been recently tapped to head up my company’s digital marketing strategy.

We’re in a niche market (student summer outdoor travel), and have maybe a dozen direct competitors in the US.

I’m pretty confident in my ability to address technical SEO. Our site holds steady around 30k visits per month, with organic search contributing the lion’s share. We consistently rank top 4 among 7 key phrases.

Our content is very carefully crafted, but is admittedly quite thin. I’ve promoted more long-form content in a way that I think will fit well with our overall goals (not just SEO), but I’m less confident in my ability to make specific recommendations about things like content frequency, content length, social media, backlink building, and the ability to analyze information from Search Console, Analytics, etc. We’re currently outsourcing our Analytics setup and AdWords buys, but I can see bringing those things in house eventually.

My employer is happy to provide financial support for me to get up to speed quickly. I’m willing to travel, and could spend a week or two at the right program. A longer course would likely need to be web-based. A cost under $5000 is probably fine. Of course, if the best program is less expensive or held online, that’s fine too!

So, r/SEO, what’s a great program I should look at to fill in the weak spots of my skill set?
